Impact
No emails were sent between approximately 00:20 and 16:15. GitLab itself remained available.
Root Cause
The switch of the email delivery to the new sender address did not work initially.
Resolution
Fixed, emails are being delivered again. Emails are now sent from gitlab@git.nrw.

Additional Details
On September 2, 2026, no emails were sent via gitlab.git.nrw between 00:20 and 16:15 CEST, including notifications for issues, merge requests, project memberships, and other activity. GitLab itself remained available.
The problem has been fixed. GitLab now sends emails from gitlab@git.nrw and signs them. Previously gitlab@gitlab.git.nrw was used. Please check your spam filters and mail rules for the new sender address if necessary.
